For used equipment listed that is over 30 years old
the the condition of power and output
transformers will
be stated accurately prior to
any negotiated sale so that minor repairs
or major re-wiring or upgrades can be carried
out by the purchaser.
Where vacuum tubes are included and are of unknown condition it is safe
to assume that
a buyer may need to replace all tubes.
Should anyone wish to purchase the items in better or different
condition to that shown then whatever work I would have to undertake
would raise the price shown and perhaps incur a wait because I have
existing contracts to fulfil.
For used equipment which is less than
30 years old and which is mainly
solid state the condition can be assumed to be
working OK except where stated
otherwise.

advertised price

A nicely maintained unit from the 1970s.
Price aud $180.00.
Item 8. Denon integrated amplifier

Not a bad performer from the late 80s/early 90s.
Price $200.00.
Item 9. Technics integrated
power amp from late eighties or early 90s.

Another good black box wonder,
Price aud $180.00.
Item 10. Audio Reflex
compressor and expander.

For the gadget mad audiophile.....
Price $150.00.
Item 11. An American DJ
turntable.

This would make a great TT for anyone, and of course including anyone
who is a dj guy or gal.
There is no plastic cover for the unit though.
Price aud $240.00.
Item
12. Akai
turntable.

An Akai TT from the late 1970s, quite reasonable budget quality.
Ths one needs a little repair to the plastic spring holders on the
cover so it stays up
when raised. But otherwise in good condition with new Nagoaka cart and
belt.
Price aud $150.00.
Item 13. Akai Turntable

This Akai is a better made model. Children removed the balance weight
from the arm so I constructed a new one
which is easily adjusted and fixed with screw so it cannot become
unadjusted or removed and lost.
Shure 91ED cart, cover in good condition.
Price aud $200.00.
Item 14. Hitachi TT.

This is a nice TT with new belt and cartridge and in excellent
condition for a late 1970s TT.
Price $240.00.
Item 15. Rega TT. SOLD for the advertised price

This model from Rega must have been one of the worst examples of an
overpriced bad quality unit ever made.
The only good things about this Rega is the 12mm thick glass platter
and the moulded black plastic/fibre arm.
There is a good sounding Ortofon MM cart. This sample needs a new motor
and new hinges for the cover to replace the appalling Rega quality
hinges.
Price as is $180, but would be worth more if I could complete the
repairs needed.
Item 16. Phillips Gramophone

This is maybe a 1972 model Phillips gramophone, ie, it has a 16,33,45
and 78 rpm adjustable TT speed
and has a ceramic high output cartridge. There is a transistor
amplifier in the box under the TT.
The two speakers fit down over the amp box and clip into place and it
can be carried like a suitcase.
One speaker is shown with its back to us to show the open baffle type
of speaker enclosure.
Bass isn't up to standards wished by 2006 teenagers, but is improved
with speakers against a wall.
It is very good for 78 rpm replay. Definately a fun toy.
Price aud $150.00.
Item 17. A National Radio PA amp for
small factory, school or undertaker.

Has 2 x EL34 and preamps for mic and input for radio..
BUT, it has only 100V+ impedance matching for the output and cannot
power an ordinary 4,8,16 ohm speaker.
Maybe valuable for spare parts...
Price $50.00.
Item 18. Pioneer tubed
receiver.

This has two 6GW8 10 watt channels, AM and FM mono tuning.
It needs a fair amount of work and probable full tube replacement.
There is no stereo FM MPX decoder.

As you may see there is a 120mm x 80mm hole behind the front panel
where a previous owner tinkered around and
removed and lost what probably was the phono amp stages with a pair of
12AX7.
Maybe if you buy this you can build a new phono stage. Or perhaps make
a solid state MPX decoder board using
chips. I have been asked to repair these sorts of components and it
always takes a couple of weeks to re-design the whole set and rewire it
to a better design. There is no cover case for the unit.
Do you have the time that I don't have?
Price $150.00.
Item 19. Stereomaster receiver.

This one was made in Oz in the late 1950s by a company that came and
went like so many that secumbed to
cheaper japanese imports. It has 2 x 6BM8 in each channel for a max 10
watts and there is a good AM tuner
for mono AM on the chassis. The cover case is serviceable.
Unfortunately the glass dial was broken by Mr or Mrs Klumsy and anyone
buying this for the
tube amplifiers could make a dial glass using a peice of clear plastic
to make it look better.
It would take a lot of work to upgrade the internals and replace the
tubes.
But as is, for the privelidge of ruining many sundays,
Price aud $150.00
